About Us

Scott Guillemette, A.S.A., M.A.A.A.

Principal
Reden & Anders, Eden Prairie, MN

Scott Guillemette is a principal of Reden & Anders in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He has worked extensively with HMOs and managed healthcare organizations (MCOs) in their strategic pricing, rating, and underwriting of their insurance products. He helps these organizations identify problem areas within their delivery system by performing financial and clinical experience analyses. Upon identification of the problem areas, he then works closely with the organizations to guide them in the improvement of their operations.

Guillemette is engaged by HMOs and insurance companies to review their estimates of unpaid claim liabilities. Since he is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, he is qualified to provide most health-based actuarial certifications and/or opinions if required by the local regulatory authority.

He often speaks to the health care industry on issues related to provider reimbursement mechanisms, mergers, and acquisitions; actuarial appraisals; and medical cost trend management. He enjoys applying actuarial techniques to help disease management companies formulate the savings and return on investment (ROI) they provide to their client constituents. His research and actuarial skills were instrumental in the formation of a neonatal intensive care management company’s product. He also helped a large national HMO determine the efficacy of each of its congestive heart failure disease management vendors.

Before joining Reden & Anders, Guillemette was a principal with Tillinghast-Towers Perrin’s U.S. Health Sector practice for 13 years. In addition, he was the manager of information systems for a Minneapolis-based PPO called Family Health Plan (now known as the Araz Group). His responsibilities included data analysis, pricing, rating, statistical reporting, and various computer management activities ranging from programming to hardware purchasing.

Guillemette is an associate of the Society of Actuaries and has worked with HMOs, PPOs, MCOs, insurance companies and BCBS plans for more than 15 years. He received a Bachelor of Arts in statistics from the University of Minnesota.
