Julia Lambert is a Principal with Reden & Anders and has provided assistance to a variety of managed care entities including HMOs, PPOs, insurance companies, employers, and risk-taking health care providers on actuarial and financial issues.
Lambert helps analyze detailed claims experience, project medical expense budgets, prepare premium rate certifications, analyze provider contracts, and evaluate unpaid claim liabilities. She also provides assistance to managed care entities regarding Medicare and Medicaid risk contracts, including feasibility studies, medical expense developments, and rate certifications.
Some of her recent consulting engagements include:
- Medical expense projection and premium rate development for start-up and established commercial managed care entities
- Analysis and review of physician and hospital capitation proposals
- Development of Medicare Advantage and Part D bids
- Medicaid risk feasibility analysis and development of medical expense projections in several states
- Review of unpaid claim liability and preparation of actuarial certifications
- Review of small group rating practices and compliance issues
Lambert is an active member of the American Academy of Actuaries and currently serves on a subcommittee work group. She also has provided assistance to the Society of Actuaries in examination grading and currently serves as an executive board member for the Colorado Strategy and HealthCare Management organization.
Prior to becoming a consultant in 1998, Lambert worked for insurance companies for five years. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a Master of Science in mathematics from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
