Jon Brunsberg is a Principal with Reden & Anders and has provided assistance to HMOs, insurance companies, employers, consortiums, and health care providers on actuarial, financial and operational issues since 1983. He has extensive experience in developing utilization and cost projections, analyzing historical claim experience, assessing reimbursement structures, and assisting clients in developing Managed Medicaid and Medicare + Choice (Medicare risk) programs.
Recently, Brunsberg has worked on a number of projects for health care provider entities implementing case-mix or risk-adjustment methodologies in relation to insurance risk. He assists clients with episode-specific global pricing and specialty specific capitations and has developed global capitation rates and related reimbursement strategies for integrated delivery systems. He has been heavily involved in the development of Reden & Anders actuarial software tools.
Brunsberg also assists clients with operational and administrative issues, such as determining management reporting needs. He also has provided MIS-to-senior management liaison support to develop reporting capabilities.
Prior to joining Reden & Anders in 1994, Brunsberg was a consultant in the Minneapolis office of Tillinghast-Towers Perrin for twelve years. He received his MBA, with a concentration in management information systems, from the University of Minnesota after earning undergraduate degrees in mathematics and business from Gustavus Adolphus College, in Saint Peter, Minnesota.
