Principal
Reden & Anders, Atlanta, GA

Brent Greenwood, a Principal in the Atlanta office of Reden & Anders, is an actuary specializing in financial and strategic managed care engagements.

Greenwood has extensive experience with managed care benefit design, pricing product development, provider contracting, as well as general financial analysis. He is familiar with the unique “geographic” aspects of health care due to his broad-based consulting experience across the country, as well as to a variety of clients, including HMOs, insurers, employers, hospitals, and physician groups. Besides traditional actuarial analysis, his other special areas of expertise include Medicare, Medicaid, provider reimbursement strategies, merger valuations, employer cost containment strategies, and medical management strategies based on an analysis of ROI.

In 1993, Greenwood was one of eight actuaries chosen to independently audit the cost projections for President Clinton's proposal to reform the health care system. He continues to maintain an interest in both state and federal health reform and is frequently asked to evaluate the impact of proposed legislation on his clients’ operations.

Greenwood has been a frequent speaker at programs sponsored by the Society of Actuaries, AAHP, BC/BS Association and state HMO associations on topics such as Consumer Driven Products, Open Access products, Implementing Specialty Contact Case Rates, POS products, Capitation and Rate Setting, Medicare + Choice Feasibility, Medicaid and The Future of Managed Care.

Greenwood has more than 25 years of managed care consulting experience and joined Reden & Anders in 2000. Prior to joining Reden & Anders, he was a principal with Towers Perrin.

He received a Bachelor of Science in actuarial science from Drake University in Iowa and is an associate of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
